Trust & Safety
A marketplace you can trust
SL Physical Marketplace connects you with businesses across Sierra Leone. Here's how we keep the marketplace safe — and how to shop with confidence.
How provider verification works
Verification is free and handled entirely by our team — providers can't buy their way in.
1. Provider applies
A business submits its profile — name, location, contact details and what it offers — and requests verification from inside the Provider Space.
2. Our team reviews
The SL Physical Marketplace team checks that the business is real, reachable and located where it claims to be, and may ask for supporting details.
3. Badge awarded
Approved businesses carry the Verified badge on their profile and every listing, so customers can spot them at a glance.
What the Verified badge means
- A real business reviewed by our team
- Confirmed location and contact details
- Continuously monitored — badges can be revoked
Shop safely on the marketplace
A few simple habits keep every transaction smooth.
Chat on WhatsApp first
Ask questions about the product or service before agreeing to buy. A genuine provider will happily answer.
Meet in public places
When collecting an item in person, choose busy, well-known locations — markets, shops or town centres.
Inspect before you pay
Check that what you're buying matches the listing description before handing over any money.
Be careful with payments
We never hold payments or offer refunds. Never send money in advance to someone you haven't verified.
Look for the badge
Verified providers have been reviewed by our team. Filter search results to show verified businesses only.
Report anything odd
Spot a suspicious listing, a scam, or misleading info? Report it in one tap from any listing — we review every report.
See something wrong? Report it
Every listing has a "Report" option — tap it, pick a reason, and our team will review. Reported listings can be suspended while we investigate, and repeat offenders lose their badge and their place on the marketplace.
